Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using HomeForPup ("the Platform"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree, you may not use the Platform.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years of age to create an account and use the Platform. By registering, you represent that the information you provide is accurate and that you have the legal capacity to enter into binding agreements.
3. Accounts and Roles
Users may register as an Adopter, Breeder, or both. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity under your account.
3.1 Breeder Accounts
Breeder accounts are subject to subscription plan limits. Breeders must provide accurate information about their kennels, dogs, and litters. Misrepresentation of health records, certifications, or breeding practices may result in account suspension.
3.2 Adopter Accounts
Adopters agree to communicate honestly with breeders and to honor commitments made through waitlists and contracts facilitated on the Platform.
4. Listings and Content
Breeders are solely responsible for the accuracy of their listings, including descriptions, photos, health information, and pricing. The Platform does not independently verify every listing but may remove content that violates these Terms.
5. Contracts and Transactions
Contracts created through the Platform are agreements between the breeder and adopter. HomeForPup facilitates but is not a party to these agreements. We are not responsible for disputes arising from private transactions.
6. Verification and Badges
Verification badges indicate that a breeder has submitted documentation that has been reviewed by our team. Badges do not constitute an endorsement or guarantee of any breeder's practices, the health of their animals, or the outcome of any adoption.
7. Prohibited Conduct
You agree not to:
- Provide false or misleading information in listings or profiles
- Harass, threaten, or abuse other users
- Circumvent subscription tier limits through multiple accounts
- Scrape or data-mine the Platform without written permission
- Use the Platform for any activity that violates applicable animal welfare laws
8. Subscriptions and Billing
Paid plans are billed monthly or annually as selected at signup. Subscriptions auto-renew unless cancelled before the end of the current billing period. Downgrades take effect at the end of the current period, and existing data is preserved.
9. Intellectual Property
The Platform's code, design, logos, and content are owned by HomeForPup and protected by copyright and trademark law. User-uploaded content remains the property of the user, but you grant HomeForPup a non-exclusive license to display it on the Platform.
10. Limitation of Liability
HomeForPup is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We are not liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Platform, including but not limited to the health or condition of any animal.
11. Termination
We may suspend or terminate your account for violations of these Terms. You may delete your account at any time through your Settings page. Upon deletion, personal data is removed; anonymized contract and review records may be retained.
12. Changes to Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the Platform after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms. Material changes will be communicated via email or in-app notification.
