1.1 Information You Provide
When you create an account, we collect your name, email address, and role preference (Adopter, Breeder, or Both). Breeders may also provide business details, kennel information, and documentation for verification.
1.2 Automatically Collected Information
We collect standard usage data including IP address, browser type, device information, pages visited, and interaction timestamps. This data helps us improve the Platform and troubleshoot issues.
1.3 Third-Party Authentication
If you sign in with Google or Apple, we receive your name and email from those providers. We do not receive your password from social sign-in providers.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use your information to:
- Create and maintain your account
- Display your profile and listings to other users
- Facilitate messaging between adopters and breeders
- Process subscription payments
- Send transactional emails (account updates, notifications)
- Improve the Platform through usage analytics
- Enforce our Terms of Service and prevent fraud
3. How We Share Your Information
We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with:
- Service providers — Clerk (authentication), Supabase (database and storage), Stripe (payments), and Resend (email). Each operates under their own privacy policies.
- Other users — Your public profile, kennel information, and listings are visible to other Platform users as configured in your privacy settings.
- Legal requirements — We may disclose information if required by law, subpoena, or government request.
4. Your Privacy Controls
In your Settings page, you can control the visibility of your email address, phone number, and location. You can also configure notification preferences for email, push, and in-app channels.
5. Data Security
We implement industry-standard security measures including encrypted connections (HTTPS), row-level security on database tables, and secure authentication through Clerk. Stripe handles all payment information — we never store credit card numbers.
6. Data Retention
Account data is retained for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, personal data is removed within 30 days. Anonymized contract and review records may be retained for legal and operational purposes.

8. Children's Privacy
HomeForPup is not directed to individuals under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via email or in-app notification. Continued use of the Platform after changes are posted constitutes acceptance.
